Doug started to play with Martha Wainwright on her first self-titled EP from the mid ‘90’s. Since then he was music director for her Piaf project which toured internationally and was recorded with Hal Willner producing. He appeared on her last 2 studio albums – “I Know You’re Married But I’ve Got Feelings Too” and “Come Home to Mama”. He continues to perform with the McGarrigle/Wainwright family for their tributes to Kate McGarrigle – with whom he had the honor to play before she died – as well their Christmas shows. He appears on the Kate McGarrigle tribute record “Sing Me the Songs” as well as in the film of the same title.
