He first met John Lurie playing clarinet on a session for a one of Lurie’s soundtracks. He was soon asked to audition on guitar for The Lounge Lizards – and ended up playing and touring with the band for the next three years. Towards the end of the band’s run, he became transcriber and arranger for John’s music. He arranged some of Lurie’s music for string quartet as part Le Poisson Rouge’s “Strange and Beautiful: A Celebration of the Music of John Lurie” in 2014. More recently he transcribed, arranged and recorded music for season two and three of the HBO show “Painting with John”.
